Claudio comes to Kaiser Permanente following a successful, 20+ year tenure with Bayer Corporation.

Reporting directly to Kaiser Permanente’s EVP & Corporate CIO, Claudio will serve as a member of the IT Senior Leadership Team; will be responsible for facilitating governance and leading corporate services and business systems development across the enterprise. He will act as the point of engagement across the IT organization, working closely with the CEO’s leadership team as the executive accountable for development and implementation of all IT solutions for the business partners.

At Bayer Corporation, his most recent responsibilities were as President and CEO for Bayer Corporate and Business Services, North America and Head of Global Information Technology Operations. Claudio joined Bayer in 1990 and held positions of increasing responsibility including SVP, CIO of Bayer Corporation. He has extensive experience in strategic planning, financial oversight, change management, global operations, and business development. One of Claudio’s many accomplishments with Bayer was establishing the North America Competency Center, the first organizational concept of its kind implemented in the region. Under his leadership as Vice President of Technology & Operations, he achieved one of most significant accomplishments for Information Systems (IS) in North America – the consolidation of the overall North American IS infrastructure, which included the Data Center, Telecommunications Network, the Service Desk and Desktop Support regionalization, and the implementation of the Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure Library.

Claudio holds several degrees, including in Electrical Engineering, Masters of Science in Information Systems, Master of Business Administration, and a Ph.D. in Business Management from the University of Pittsburgh.
