Frequently Asked Questions

Answering some of the most common questions you may have about recruiting.

What is an executive recruiter?

Recruitment is identifying, attracting, screening, shortlisting, and interviewing, suitable candidates for roles within an organization. External recruiters often specialize in a geographic area, profession, industry, or job level, which allows for more specific expertise than internal recruiters.

What is retained search?

Niche roles that require unique skill sets and often the traditional in house process is not equipped to attract and retain the right talent. We were founded as a retained search company and have refined our process over the years.

Before stepping into hiring professionals for our clients, we study in-depth about who and what our clients are. Being aware of who we are partnering with helps us develop strategies for the client’s company. We like to partner with number-driven companies with a strong personality that is promising in terms of growth.

As part of our professional build, we also keep the client updated about our progress through status reports, candidate biographies, resume summaries, and more. We aim to give our clients a competitive edge by listening, informing, advising, and driving their business forward!

What is contingent search?

A contingent search firm operates on a no placement, no fee basis. A retained executive search firm is paid regardless of the success of the search. Clients that need to fill mid-level to lower-level positions often choose to hire one or multiple contingency search firms to fill the role. As the name suggests, a contingency firm only gets compensated once a candidate is placed. The fee for a contingent search is typically a lower percentage of the total annual compensation than for a retained search and can vary greatly by industry and difficulty. Your search has low competition If you have a large candidate pool, your search requirements are broad, or there is low competition for candidates, a contingent search might fit your needs.

Hiring the Right Diverse Talent Improves Your Bottom Line Companies in the top quartile for racial and ethnic diversity are 35% more likely to have financial returns above their respective national industry medians

Why hire an external recruiter vs using an internal recruiter?

Internal recruiters recruit only for the organization they work for, but their recruiting responsibilities may vary. Some in-house recruiters may recruit for the entire organization.
